Position Overview:
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to design, optimize, and drive automation frameworks while enhancing testing strategies. You’ll play a critical role in automating test scenarios, mentoring teams, conducting PoCs, and solving automation challenges.
This role requires a strong product and mobile app testing mindset, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-quality test execution. While automation is the primary focus, manual testing will also be required for critical releases.
You’ll work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment to ensure seamless and reliable software releases.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Framework Development & Optimization
- Develop & enhance test automation frameworks for mobile & web applications.
- Identify gaps in existing frameworks and optimize for scalability & performance.
- Standardize best practices and reusable automation components.
- Develop UI, API, and backend automation scripts using Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, or similar tools.
- Ensure seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Execute automated test scripts for feature validation, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.
Testing Strategy & Implementation
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing using automation.
- Automate mobile app testing (iOS & Android) using Appium or similar tools.
- Develop API automation scripts using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
- Implement data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid testing frameworks.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing for stability across environments.
Mentorship & Upskilling the Team
- Coach & mentor QA teams on best practices in automation.
- Conduct training sessions & workshops to transition manual testers into automation roles.
- Advocate for automation-first approaches across QA & development teams.
PoCs & Problem-Solving
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for evaluating new automation tools & frameworks.
- Solve complex automation challenges like test data management, flaky test handling, and execution time optimization.
- Explore AI-driven test automation and self-healing automation methodologies.
- Experiment with headless browser testing and cloud-based automation (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, LambdaTest).
Manual Testing & Quality Assurance
- Perform exploratory & manual testing for critical releases and edge-case scenarios.
- Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with developers & product teams in Agile sprints for early defect detection.
Required Skills and Experience:
Automation Framework Expertise – Proven experience in building & optimizing automation frameworks from scratch.
Programming Knowledge – Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# for automation scripting.
Test Automation Tools – Hands-on experience with Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, Postman, RestAssured.
CI/CD Integration – Expertise in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines for test automation in CI/CD workflows.
Mobile App Testing – Strong experience in testing native & hybrid mobile apps using real devices & emulators.
Mentorship & Leadership – Ability to train & guide teams in automation best practices.
PoC & Problem-Solving – Experience in evaluating new automation technologies and conducting proof-of-concepts (PoCs).
Agile & DevOps – Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with an understanding of DevOps culture.
Nice To Have Skills:
- Knowledge of performance & load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
- Experience in security testing or penetration testing.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based testing (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
